Take an active role in your health and your Chiropractic Care. Here are 9 ways for you to help us, help you!

1. Use Your Chiropractors Knowledge And Experience…

to ensure that you have access to the best and most up to date information available. The more you understand and are aware of what is going on in your body, the better the results you will have. Please don’t hesitate to ask us any questions or let us know if you have any concerns. We are always happy to help.

2. Exercises And Stretches…

will be recommended specifically for each individual. However it is important that you are maintaining a regular exercise regime. Even a 20 min walk every second day is highly beneficial. Maintaining a strong core and abdominal muscles is also vital for spinal health as it is a key factor in keeping your spine stable and properly supported. If you are currently going to the gym or thinking of starting gym, please make sure you check with Dr. John and Dr. Craig  for what exercises will be appropriate for your individual situation.

3. Adequate Rest And Sleep…

is essential for allowing your body to heal and repair. It is recommended for adults that 7 to 8 hours lying on your side or back with supportive pillow will allow for optimal sleeping.

4. Reducing Emotional Stress…

is one of the primary factors in reducing chronic health issues. When we allow the emotions of our jobs, home life, relationships and past circumstances to overrun our lives, our body begins to feel overwhelmed and will not function at its best. Too much stress and baggage will weigh you and your body down!

5. Keeping Your Scheduled Appointments…

is very important for improving the functioning of your spine. Each visit builds on the ones before, so missing a visit will slow down your progress. That’s why Dr. John and Dr. Craig have recommended a specific schedule of care to get you the best results in the shortest period of time. After every adjustment, your body is being trained to recognise the new posture and correct alignment. Think of it like going to the gym, you don’t expect tighter abs after a few sessions, to make significant change, a significant commitment is necessary.

6. Drinking Plenty Of Water…

is one of the key factors to a healthy body. When your body is dehydrated it can lead to poor joint function, decreased vertebral disc space, reduced nerve transmission and inadequate waste removal. The amount varies for each person, however approximately 8 glasses or 2 Litres of water is an amount to strive for. If you find that the taste of water is not satisfying try adding some lemon or cucumber slices ????

7. Walking After Each Adjustment…

ensures that your body has time to adapt and process the changes made during the adjustment. If you sit down in the car immediately after, your body will not have a chance to adapt to the new alignment and revert to its old posture. Take at least 5 minutes to walk around outside and enjoy the fresh air.

8. Healthy Habits…

are essential in reducing your risks of subluxations and toxic overloads to your system. In particular try reducing and eventually eliminating the consumption of soft drinks, alcohol, fast foods, sugar, processed (unnatural) foods and coffee and quit smoking. It takes approximately 28 days to change a habit, so hang in there and your new exercise and eating habits will be a part of your regular routine for life!

9. Good Postures…

help to support a healthy spine. Be more aware of how you sit, stand, lift and sleep.

Your life is a gift; you get out of it what you put into it. Your health is the result of how you manage your life and the habits that you maintain throughout your lifetime.

We are blessed to be given such a life that is more intelligent than anything that will ever be created by man. Understand it; how it functions and how it thrives and it will be yours to enjoy for more than the average lifetime.
